Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions About Estate Protection Dogs
Can we place more than one dog at once, or add a second dog later?
Both work. Some estates start with a perimeter dog and add a companion dog once the household is used to having a trained dog on the property; others place the full team at once after the initial walkthrough.
Will a new protection dog get along with pets already on the property?
Temperament and existing pets are part of the same walkthrough that sets breed and drive level, so the dogs placed are chosen to work alongside animals already living on the estate, not just the people.
How do the dogs adjust when household or grounds staff change?
Handoff training is part of placement: new staff are introduced to the dogs under supervision before they are left to move around the property unaccompanied.
Can the same protection team move between properties if we split time seasonally?
Yes, dogs trained for estate work can travel with the family between residences. This gets worked out during the consultation so the deployment plan accounts for more than one property.
How long does it take from consultation to a fully deployed estate team?
Timelines depend on how many dogs the property needs and whether they come from current availability or the Build-a-Dog program. This gets mapped out during the consultation once the walkthrough is complete.
Do you place dogs on properties outside the U.S. and Canada?
Delivery and placement are handled nationwide across the U.S. and Canada. Properties outside that footprint should raise it directly during the consultation.
